When to see a doctor about gastro-eosophageal reflux disease (GERD)
People who have any of the symptoms of GERD should see their doctor to properly diagnose their gastric symptoms and get advice on treatment.
The sooner that treatment can begin (even if it is just lifestyle and dietary modifications), the sooner that the worse of symptoms can be avoided or at least greatly limited.

People with gastro-eosophageal reflux disease (GERD) often delay a visit to the doctor for a long time, usually just self-medicating with antacids and other over-the-counter medications.
Babies who have reflux symptoms and also have a fever, are not looking well or not feeding should be taken to a doctor immediately as there may be an underlying condition which needs urgent medical intvention.
